A beautiful wedding at The Holford Estate in the heart of the stunning Cheshire countryside
As a Holford Estate wedding photographer we absolutely love photographing weddings at the Holford Estate set in the gorgeous Cheshire countryside.
Now usually before shooting wedding photography at The Holford Estate we like to meet our clients for a chat. In this instance, John and Aisling live outside the area so booked us having just seen our images on our website. They were confident that our style of photography was exactly what they were looking for.
The morning of the wedding
On the day of the wedding we arrived at The Holford Estate bright and early in order to catch some shots of the bridal and the grooms’ parties as they made their final preparations.
The Groom was getting ready at The Mill on The Holford Estate. He was in very good hands with his groomsmen who included his best man and ushers.
The Bride and her bridal party were getting ready at The Barn on The Holford Estate. Aisling was accompanied by her five bridesmaids and everybody was in good spirits; we even spotted a little champagne on hand to help things along!
Aisling looked stunning in her Stephanie Allin wedding dress. Her hair was styled by Jade at a local hairdressers and make up by make-up artist Clare Breen. Flowers on the day were provided by Chloe Robinson designs.
Once ready the boys (who looked very handsome in petrol blue three piece suits) walked up to The Barn for the ceremony.
Now, to tell you a little more about The Holford Estate
It is a privately owned event venue surrounded by 130 acres of beautiful countryside sitting just outside Knutsford in Cheshire. It really was the perfect venue for John and Aisling’s wedding day. The exclusivity of the venue and its picturesque surroundings gave us so many opportunities to take great photos of John, Aisling and their guests.
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place in Holford’s recently restored 18thcentury barn and was conducted by registrar Karen Dowding.
We love the details at weddings
Especially the little things that tell you something of your bride and grooms personalities. This was definitely the case with the readings that John and Aisling chose for their ceremony. ‘A Marriage’ by Mark Twain was read by Joe (Aisling’s brother) and ‘He’s not perfect’ by Bob Marley was read by Amanda (John’s sister) and gave the ceremony a wonderfully personal and authentic tone.
Drinks on the lawn
After the ceremony there was a fun confetti moment before John, Aisling and their guests enjoyed an elegant drinks and canapes reception on the beautifully manicured lawn with musical accompaniment from the Lochnager Ceilidh Band.
The wedding reception itself was held in a gorgeous marquee (we must say it looked amazing) set in the magnificent gardens of The Holford Estate. Catering provided by Samuel James Events with drinks provided by Escapde Bars.
Late evening sunshine
After the wedding breakfast everybody spilled outside to make the most of the late sunshine. The evening entertainment started with a fun throwing of the bouquet followed by the cutting of a beautiful cake made by Claire Green Cakes. Then it was back to the Lochnager Ceilidh Band who saw that everybody was up and having a go at traditional Scottish dancing. It was so much fun! The DJ Mark Peters picked things up from there and ensured the dancefloor stayed packed for the rest of the evening.
A gorgeous, stylish and personal wedding at a stunning venue
Congratulations to John and Aisling for getting married and allowing us to tell the story of their day. We’ll finish this post with what Aisling and John had to say about their wedding photographs.
“Thank you so much for the wedding photos, they’re brilliant! Exactly what we wanted.”
